Welcome on this new EEE tool (in french, EEE means Évaluation de l'Enseignement par les Élèves) !
Wanting to quickly x-ray a course to see if "everything is going well" or if there is "water in the gas" ??? This EEE tool allows you to very quickly and easily evaluate a course on its most important fields free of charge, anonymously and efficiently.
to start a new course evaluation !
No information gathering or processing needed :
everything is done automatically for you !
As soon as they answer, you will benefit directly, without any additional work on your part.
Your opinion IS important !
It is thanks to your feedback that the concerned course will be able to evolve favorably.
This tool is "personal development" oriented and focused on the teacher and their own needs.
It is not "control" oriented and is in no way intended to meet institutional needs, whether they be control, quality, monitoring or others !
By the way, you are the only one who can view the evaluations you make and moreover have the ability to delete them.
Have a look to this simple and effective guide. It will be useful.
This new version brings several changes and new features over the previous version. Below in two columns to easily compare before (old version) / after (new version).
Comparison
Without the tool doing anything about it it frequently happened that the email address was entered with a typo and as a result ... the emails never arrived!!
=> the e-mail not arriving, you had to start an EEE again and re-enter all the course details...
Some users had even temporarily stopped using the tool, as they were convinced that the tool was not/no longer working!
The email address is now systematically verified when creating a new EEA to ensure that these annoyances cannot happen again.
Better yet, once the email address is validated it will no longer need to be done again (unless you clear the browser cache or use a different one).
I have taken your feedback into account: the wording of the system questions has been revised so that they are even clearer and more understandable to students.
These questions now more effectively cover the important aspects of an EEE.
They have been grouped into 8 separate, clear and simple domains that are directly related to these questions. And an additional "Other" area has been provided to group any questions from the user.
If more than one student entered the same remark, positive or negative, it appeared as many times in the transcript.
No change to this: a comment entered 5x (by the same student or different students) will continue to appear 5x.
A radar-like diagram is automatically generated and shows, at a glance, the whole result obtained:
A student could answer the questionnaire several times and thus evaluate the same course several times.
Sometimes unintentionally, sometimes intentionally ... but in all cases the quality of the result suffered.
Measures have been taken: a student can no longer respond multiple times to an assessment request from the same browser.
It is now possible to use your own questions when evaluating a course.
The browser will remember the list of your specific questions and offer them again the next time you use it.
It's really quite simple, just try it!
The previous version was based on old technologies and it became very difficult to make it evolve. It was not "responsive" and worked very badly from a cell phone...
The new version uses recent technologies and is responsive. As a result, it should behave almost as well on a cell phone as it does on a PC with a 32-inch screen.
If needed, it will also be easier to add features.
No computers in the classroom?
Don't know your students' emails?
No worries!!!
Thanks to a QRCode that you simply display to the class, students will be able to access the EEE very quickly from their cell phones.
This is a new channel to reach them, in addition to the two already existing (the link in an email or the code to be entered manually on the website).
They will be able to use a QRCode scanner already present on their cell phones or simply use the QRCode scanner from this website and, quickly they will access the course evaluation from a conventional classroom, without computers, with their cell phones.
Although this option was apparently little used, to evaluate a course the student also had the option of identifying the relevant course by manually entering the "secret" code corresponding to the desired course.
The teacher could, for example, write this code (e.g., 523999083FBDA
) on the board for students to copy down for later use, once on the website.
Technology has evolved and the code that distinguishes one assessment from another has grown fat...and looks more like this currently:21d241f9-741201f8-1c5da0ae-9775ea29
.
The possibility still exists but ... copying and typing it has become laborious and less ergonomic than before.
The previous version was only available in French.
The new version can easily be made available in multiple languages.
If you think it's worth adding one, are proficient in that language, and volunteer:
contact me!"
Previously with a single click one could produce a PDF file containing all the details of the assessment performed.
This feature no longer exists as is.
When an assessment detail is displayed on the screen and an attempt is made to print it (CTRL+P), the display and representation of the information will be different to be appropriate for "A4-Portrait" size.
From there, producing a PDF file is still very simple, however: on a Mac this is directly possible from the print preview and on a PC you have to go through a PDF printer like Adobe Acrobat or similar.
And the report now contains the radar overview as well as the distribution of the students' answers to the questions asked ;-)
Easy: a button allows you to send again the 2 emails (teacher/student) so that handling it again will be a snap !
Provide this information to create a new course evaluation.
These thoughtful questions are based on numerous studies conducted in this area with the goal of highlighting potential difficulties, if any, with few and clear questions.

Below are your own questions that you can define/modify.
This tool has been completely rewritten with new technologies to continue to work with the latest browsers and software versions at hosting companies.
I also corrected some small bugs and improved some parts of it and wrote new functionalities.
have a look to the page "News and changes" that will answer to this question through a comparative view old/new.
I am a professionnal teacher at l'Ecole des Métiers de Fribourg and my name is Paul Friedli.
When I had my diploma at l'IFFP (cursus DBP/1800h de 2011-2013) for teaching IT apprenticeship in a professional school, I choosed to focus on the subject "The questions to be asked to students to successfully evaluate a course" for my diploma thesis.
From this diploma thesis came out the first version of this tool/website, that you may have used and that looked like this :
This tool came out in 2013. I wanted to greatly simplify the process of doing a course evaluation with students. I wanted to limit the teacher work to a minimum when doing a EEE (in french Évaluation de l'Enseignement par les Élèves).
My goal was to produce a tool simple and efficient allowing to quickly and very easily X-ray a teaching performance to check if "everything is fine" or if "there is something" :-).
A tool that would not seek to have the illusory pretense of being able to analyze the whys of the assessment outcome, but a tool that detect troubles and greatly assists and organizes the necessary classroom discussion that should follow any such evaluation.
">A tool that would be « personal developpement » oriented and centered on the teacher and his needs, and not a tool that would be « control » oriented as this tool is not intended to meet any institutional needs.
More than 1'000 EEE have been since produced with this tool. Very proud of it ! I wasn't expecting that much success !
I am very thankful about that many very constructive and very positive feedbacks I received. A giant thank you to all of you !
I hope you will have fun using it and that it will make your life easier.

Preparing it
Start by preparing the EEE by filling in the fields describing the relevant course sequence.
Choose questions to ask
Unless you have a good reason to do otherwise, pitch the predefined questions!"
In fact, the main purpose of this set of predefined questions is to successfully highlight a possible difficulty in any of the registers and aspects of teaching (which is by far not as simple as one might at first think). This proposed set of predefined questions emanates from a broad reflection and several research studies on this topic.
Creating the EEA
Then create your EEA and be sure to save the 2 emails you will receive.
- The 1st email is directly about you and should not be shared. It will allow you to interact with your EEE.
- The 2nd email is for students. It contains a link that will allow them to evaluate your course.
Announce your intention to the class
Announce to the class your intention to take a moment for your course evaluation. Remind them that it is completely anonymous and ask them to freely and honestly answer the questions posed. This way they will give you the benefit of their appreciation so that you can then move the course in the right direction.
Evaluation with computers
If your students are in a classroom with computers and you can easily get the 2nd email to them: do it!
The link in this 2nd email will allow them to quickly access your course evaluation.
Evaluation with smartphones
If your students have cell phones they'll be happy to air them out for a moment to quickly respond!
You will display the QR-Code for your EEE (on beamer, on your own phone as you walk through the rows to show it, printing the QR-Code and passing it around among the students using the sheet of paper, ...).
Students with a recent smartphone will simply be able to use their smartphone's camera, which automatically recognizes QR-Codes. This will give them the easiest and most automatic access to your course evaluation.
Students with an older smartphone will use the QR-Code scanner built into the website. To do this, they will navigate this site with their smartphones and use the large button on the right side of the main page to access your course evaluation.
Discover the result with the class
Whether it is positive or negative, as soon as they all answer I suggest you discover the result directly with the students! For example, by projecting it on the beamer and discovering it together. It is important to create an atmosphere that allows for open discussion with them.
In fact, only an open discussion with the class will allow you to analyze and understand the why of this or that answer, suggestion for improvement or other. And this structured x-ray will allow you to do so in an efficient and organized way, topic by topic.
Discovering and analyzing it with the class will have many beneficial effects, starting with demonstrating to students that, if they were asked a question, they were actually interested in the answer! They will feel valued and appreciated. And when they are convinced that you are really taking this feedback into account, the circle will be complete! They will become more involved in their own training and will give you the benefit of quality feedback!
You have recently created a student evaluation for the course below :
0
To produce a PDF document for this evaluation is very simple : print it directly from the browser (CTRL+P), as in print mode, the content will be very different and adapted to the A4 portrait-mode format "A4-Portrait".
On Mac, in preview before print mode :
On PC, in preview before print mode :
You have recently taken the following course :
By answering these few questions you will be able to give your precious opinion, simply and anonymously :
Modern smartphones most often already have this feature built into their camera! Use your smartphone's camera frame the QR-Code (as if you wanted to take a picture of it) and it will offer you to navigate to the address contained in the QR-Code.
For other cases, this page contains a built-in QR-Code reader to easily scan that QR-Code that your teacher is displaying to you. To enable this built-in scanner you will probably need to allow the app to use your camera.
Then simply point your camera at the displayed QR-Code and ... the app will automatically transport you to the desired course evaluation :-)
The camera [] is currently used.
If it doesn't work automatically, try with the buttons below : you will be able to choose the camera.
Usually it works well. However, it is always the rear camera that is used.
If you press the red button, then the green button, choose the front camera, it is nevertheless the rear camera that will be used (which is not much of a problem since it is anyway the most suitable to properly scan the displayed QR-Code and it works).
On Android there are several browsers : Opera, Chrome, ... and the situation may be very different on each of them.
For now, unfortunately it is still the front camera that is used "by default".
To use the rear camera, you have to press the red button, then the green button, choose the rear camera and then scan the displayed QR-Code.
With the rear camera, this seems to work well on all models tested so far. With the front camera, this is still an issue on quite a few models.
